Charles River Laboratories Appoints Stephanie Wells as Corporate Senior Vice President, Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer

WILMINGTON, Mass., Mar 16, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Charles River Laboratories International, Inc. (NYSE:CRL) announced today the appointment of Stephanie Wells to the role of Corporate Senior Vice President, Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer, effective March 12, 2007. In this newly created position, Ms. Wells will be responsible for establishing global marketing strategies and branding initiatives and will drive the implementation of both. She will also participate as an integral and active member in the strategic planning process of the Company.

Prior to joining Charles River, Ms. Wells was Vice President Worldwide Marketing, Clinical Labs for Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, a Johnson & Johnson company in Raritan, New Jersey. In that position, she was responsible for the Clinical Laboratory global marketing strategy and implementation and spearheaded several product launches. Ms. Wells also served as Vice President Marketing - Laboratory Testing Business Unit at Bayer Diagnostics. With over twenty-five years of healthcare business experience, Ms. Wells brings with her an international background which includes extensive sales, marketing and general business management experience.
